"Gotham Central" (DC)

Summary: Another pre-52 series that focuses on the Gotham City Major Crimes Unit. This allows "regular cops" tackle cases using Batman's rogue's gallery.

Review: So this came to my attention because (1) in my rediscovery of comics, I wanted to catch up on Renee Montoya (a previous version of The Question), and (2) that it won a GLAAD award. Because it was available on Comixology, it was a no-brainer to download and start reading.

So the first significant story arc focusing on Renee and her being outed and the ramifications both professionally and personally (with my fav lesbo cop Maggie Sawyer having a key supporting role in the story.) A good sign in my book.

In general, this series made Ed Brubaker one of my favorite writers in comic books now. He definitely knows how to write crime stories that work in a super-hero universe. I enjoyed the entire series and only wished that Maggie had a story of her own.
