"Kevin Keller" (Archie Comics)

Introduced in the "Veronica" series in Sep. 2010, the much awaited gay character of Kevin Keller quickly became a favorite to fans. His popularity proved strong enough that Archie Comics launched this ongoing "Kevin Keller" series.

I didn't find out about this character until I covered Wonder Con '12 for the Blade Magazine. Having just gotten a tablet, it was enough to get me to check it out and gladly so.

Kevin is a pretty laid back guy who stands up for himself and others, a very good role-model and patriotic military brat. And yes, he does "blend in" by going against gay stereo-types in some ways but adopting others. A worthwhile addition to the lexicon of LGBT charcters in comic-dom.

Moving over a FB post from July 13:
Comic-Con: "Archie" chatted with Dan Parent who is working on the just announced crossover with "Glee". He mentioned that it will focus on the more well-known characters while they're still in high school. Should be interesting on how that will translate.

And he said "Kevin Keller" is on ongoing series. And there's a Kevin T-shirt!
