Summary
Near futuristic Earth on the verge of self-destruction with the death of all men and the women waiting for the demise of themselves and the human race in its entirety.

My Thoughts (with potential spoilers!)
It never ceases to amaze me when I watch a piece of art work with a cast of mostly women characters and yet, I severely doubt women had any involvement in the creative process given how sexist and homophobic it is. When the lead character spouts off a lesbian-critical comment, I immediately thought “This is going to be a looong viewing.”

Execution-wise, it goes for visual and story-telling style that clearly caters to the male otaku view of the world. It completely lacks real character or story depth, going for shallow and convenient portrayals.

As a lesbian feminist, this is a pass. Big time. And I actually own this based on its advertising premise about women involving themselves in self-decadence, etc. — definitely false advertising since there’s no portrayals of decadence either. Can’t even support it as a porn option.

And just got word that the movie version (with extra footage) will be released in the U.S. It’s probably the footage with the decadence in it. Not sure I’m willing to spend the time & money to check it out, but my reviewer’s curiousity may win out in the end.
