"Albert Nobbs" (2012 US/Irish Movie)

Summary:
The tale of a 19th century woman in Ireland who has spent most of her life impersonating a male waiter in order to survive.

My Thoughts (with potential spoilers!):
I didn’t need to know about Academy Award nominations before committing myself to seeing this. Glenn Close in drag? Of course!

So I saw it with my gay best buddies Nico and Rachel. And we collectively agree that it’s a very worthwhile movie. Nico laughed at my description of it as “a charming film about women being practical.”

As for whether it will win an Oscar, I don’t think so given everything else it’s competing against. But it’s worth the recognition that it already got.
