I originally had tickets for this when it was first scheduled half a year ago but then got rescheduled due to unexpected weather. And of course, it had to be rescheduled on the Friday night of Comic-Con this year. But the Show Queen won out over the Fan Grrl in me so I did the insane drive up and down that night in an otherwise already chaotic weekend.

And it was worth it! If you're there as an American Musical Theater geek. And in my case, I've been a fan of his since I was in my early teens (so we're talking around 30 years.)

It was great to hear Sondheim give insights to some of his methodologies and philosophies, with supporting performances by Brian Stokes-Mitchell and Christine Ebersol.

Though interestingly (and honestly not that surprising), the only time homosexuality was brought up that evening was how a song with Richard Rogers was edited because Mrs. Rogers didn't like the content.
